3-Day Refresh
What's it all about?
So, I have been getting a lot of questions lately abut the cleanse that I just completed, a favorite product in the Beachbody line, the 3-Day Refresh!
I do this cleanse a few times a year as a "reset". For me it is the best way to make a clean break from a pattern of unhealthy eating, and is a great way to kickstart yourself into a more healthy mindset and clean eating habits. I love it because it's clear-cut, effective, and satisfying! Each time I have done it I have lost 4-5 pounds, kept it off, and went on to lose more! It truly redefines how you look at food and portions, reminds you of the importance of staying hydrated, and gives you a true "fresh start"
3 Day Refresh Benefits:
The 3 Day Refresh is not like traditional cleanses, restricting food intake to strictly liquids and limiting calories to unhealthy levels. Instead, the 3 Day Refresh allows between 800 and 1,000 calories per day, and includes vegetables, fruit, and healthy fats (avocado, hummus).
Most traditional cleanses are also done without any exercise or fitness regimen due to the limited caloric intake that leads to decreased energy levels. The 3 Day Refresh was intended to be done along with mild to moderate exercise. One similarity between Refresh and other traditional cleanses is that, although it does not limit calories quite as much as liquid cleanses, it does help rid the body of unhealthy toxins. The body builds up an unhealthy level of toxins due to poor diets that include processed foods, preservatives, consumption of alcohol, sugary beverages, unhealthy fats and foods with additives. These toxins not only inhibit weight loss, they also cause fatigue, stress and various negative side effects. While on the 3 Day Refresh, the body eliminates the many toxins and replaces them with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
During the three days on the cleanse, you will be eating three meals per day, plus one snack in the afternoon. Breakfast will be Shakeology with the addition of fruit, or a portion of fruit separately. midmorning is the "Fiber Sweep" which is basically a fiber rich drink to keep your insides moving along, Lunch is the "Vanilla Fresh Shake" (a high in protein shake to help keep you full through the day and maintain lean muscle mass during the cleanse) plus a portion of vegetable and portion of healthy fat. Mid afternoon will be a snack which can be a portion of vegetable plus a portion of healthy fat. And dinner will be a from a list of many provided vegetable based recipes plus a "Vanilla Fresh" shake.
The following is a real life snapshot of a typical day for me on the 3-Day Refresh:
Breakfast: Chocolate Shakeology with 12 stawberries. (some blended into shake, some ala carte)
10AM: fiber sweep drink (drink daily mid-morning to keep the digestive track running smoothly)
Lunch: "vanilla fresh" protein shake blended with a portion of fruit AND a portion of vegetable + healthy fat (So I either eat the tomato avocado plate pictured below, or carrots and hummus)
Snack: portion of vegetable + portion of healthy fat. (I usually have carrot sticks an hummus at that time)
Dinner: "vanilla fresh" protein shake AND a recipe from the guide or make your own recipe which is a portion of vegetable and a portion of healthy fat. So I usually oven roast some green beans, broccoli or cauliflower with a touch of olive oil, lemon juice, and some other garnishes and seasonings from the "approved" list.
They "approved" foods list is actually quite extensive, so you'll be happy with the variety of meals and snacks and shake blends that you can create.

Preparing for the 3-Day Refresh:
Weekdays may be a better option since weekends tend to include eating out, treating yourself to desserts and sometimes consuming alcohol. Once you commit to starting the cleanse, it's best to ensure that you have all of the items you need in your pantry and refrigerator. It may also be wise to eliminate the foods you cannot eat so that you are not tempted. Pick a three day period that you know you have the time to prepare your food and snacks, and be free of too many distractions...
And be ready to be REFRESHED!!
As always, message me with questions or info on how to order!
